Drone footage by Finley
Since I've already done a blog about myself, I thought it was time to introduce my fantastic assistant, Finley! If you've ever had a shoot with me, you have undoubtedly already met Fin - shlepper of blankets and holder of jackets. Somewhere around 2012 or 2013 I let Fin tag along on a shoot. He needed a break from his siblings and I thought he'd come in handy as a model to find the best light before the clients arrived. All these years later and he's become indispensable, great at anticipating my needs and connecting with children. I have been thinking about adding some drone work to my packages (I think drone footage would add so much to family films!) and asked Fin if he'd like to try his hand so that I could keep my focus. I'm sharing his first ever drone footage above - I'm so proud! But back to Fin...
10 Things About Fin
1. Fin is 15 and a Freshman at Poolesville High School in the Global Ecology Program.
2. Has spent the past year perfecting his grilled cheese sandwiches - which we ALL appreciate!
3. Loves all things Anime.
4. Fin has done two tours with Outward Bound and hopes for more in the post-COVID future.
5. Has played excessive amounts of video games with his brothers over quarantine.
6. Is slightly allergic to bananas and marshmallows but doesn't let it stop him from enjoying a s'more or two.
7. Enjoys teasing his family about how high he can jump, how great his hair is and how much he looks like Wilbur Soot.
8. Like a typical teenager, Fin defaults to staying up into the wee hours of the night and sleeping until he's woken up for lunch.
9. Was born in Southern California and has sunshine in his blood. While he loves Maryland, I think he will always think of SoCal as home.
10. Dreams of being an Engineer someday.
